Finding Yourself in the Hardest Goodbyes
The door is closed now, possibly forever and you sigh and let out a slow long breath. Your heart breaks and inside you shudder but you KNOW you could not have continued....it literally would have been the end of you. You were never meant to drown yourself helping someone else. These are some of the hardest goodbyes in life because often it is someone we love very much and we failed to love ourselves more. And when you fall, you fall hard. But then you land and landing is the most important part because wherever it is, it's not there and somehow you can breathe again.
We all have experienced this relationship, the one that consumed all of our thoughts till we were unable to focus, that drained us of every bit of energy we had and left us strangers to ourselves. We know it's not healthy but we give it just a bit longer, maybe they will come around? So you stay a little longer...and then longer still.
The truth is, they won't change and no you really shouldn't stay. Nothing changes unless you do, unless you take that step and close that door. I want to talk you today about what happens after, when you wake up the next day and your survived and there is exhaustion but a strange sense of peace. I say strange because peace has been foreign to you, it has not been around for a long time.
Do not be afraid you ARE NOT going to fall apart, you survived this and you will continue. I say this because people often don't realize once they come out of an abusive relationship, they have already won the hardest battle. They survived the storm and what happens after is intensive healing. What matters now is the reemergence of you.
We find ourselves in the darkest, deepest places because we have no choice other than to look within. It is there we connect with Source, commune with our higher selves and we find our inner GPS. We find our intuition, we reconnect with our soul blue print and find our away again. So don't be afraid to close the door, to walk away, to save yourself. Your heart may break but, you will shatter all that which no longer serves and you will find yourself again. Finally.
